Pharmacology

Pharmacology is taught to medical students as part of a Medical School Curriculum. It is the study of drugs and is an interdisciplinary subject in nature which overlaps with all biomedical sciences like physiology, pathology, biochemistry and even relates to biophysical and computational sciences, and analytical chemistry in modern era. Students learn basic and clinical pharmacology in a medical School. Basic pharmacology develop the concept, prepare infrastructure of the subject and impart knowledge to be used in clinical settings. Clinical pharmacology focuses on the application of pharmacological principles and methods in the medical clinic and towards patient care and outcomes. This is the most important skill because is utilized in all clinical sciences or it is said that none of clinical sciences, is complete without understanding the pharmacology. Pharmacological research is important in hospitals, academia (medical and non-medical), scientific writing, patents and law, consultation, biotech, pharmaceutical and food industry, forensics/law enforcement, public health, and environmental/ecological sciences.
